Secret Escapes Group, one of the world’s leading, members-only online travel and experiences companies, is selling the digital assets and domain of LateRooms.com to Snaptrip.com, the UK’s leading last-minute holiday rental marketplace.
Secret Escapes acquired the domain earlier this year as part of a deal in which it secured outright the brand and assets of LateLuxury.com, its joint venture site, after the Malvern Group ceased trading following a withdrawal of funding.
Secret Escapes has since restarted LateLuxury.com, which operates alongside the Group’s other brands including Secret Escapes, Travelist, Slevomat, TravelBird and Pigsback.com.
Following the deal with Snaptrip, LateRooms.com will no longer be redirected to LateLuxury.com and will now be relaunched as a standalone website as part of the Snaptrip family of sites.
Alex Saint, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Secret Escapes, said:
“We are very happy to pass on the digital assets and domain of LateRooms to Snaptrip. Although LateRooms is a great brand, it’s not core to our strategy. LateRooms suits Snaptrip’s last-minute booking focused model very well and is highly complementary to their existing sites.”
